Cayman Swimming Set a Record at Carifta Games

Cayman Swimmers ended the 2017 Carifta Games making history in Bahamas as they bring home 50 medals ranking 3rd overall.

It’s the highest number of Carifta medals ever for the Cayman Islands.

The Swimmers racked up 16 Gold; 15 Silver and 19 Bronze medals.

Team Cayman picked up 47 medals in the pool and 3 more in Open Water swimming to close out the Easter Tournament.

19 teams competed in the pool and the Cayman Islands finished the Carifta Games in 3rd place with 621.5 points.

In the High Points Awards, Cayman’s swimmers had the following top three finishing places:
Girls 11-12: Avery Lambert 3rd
Boys 11-12: Corey Frederick Westerborg 2nd
Girls 13-14: Alison Jackson 3rd
Girls 15-17: Lauren Hew 1st

FINA Points Best Swim:
13-14: Alison Jackson – 100 LC Meter Freestyle prelims in a time of 58.22 for 714 points.
